Berinchik lost to Nokes in London

Ukrainian boxer Denis Berinchik suffered a defeat in his bout against Sam Nox for the WBO International lightweight title. The British fighter won by unanimous decision. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Sport RBC.UA.

The British boxer dominated the early rounds. While Berinchik was still able to dictate the pace in the first two rounds, Nokes began to pick up the pace in the third round and landed more frequent blows to both the Ukrainian’s body and face.

In the fourth round, the British fighter managed to land several combinations, but Berinchik was able to evade his opponent’s attacks thanks to his footwork. Knox continued to dominate in the following rounds.
In the seventh round, the Brit landed quite a few blows to Berinchik’s body, but toward the end of that three-minute round, the Ukrainian landed what was perhaps his best two-punch combination on his opponent, though Noakes weathered the storm.
The 8th round brought even more successful combinations from Berinchik: in one instance, his two-punch combination broke through Knox’s defense. However, in his eagerness to land several blows on his opponent, the Ukrainian left himself open to counterattacks.
The penultimate three-minute round was again productive for the Ukrainian, though he lacked speed and sharpness at the decisive moments. Knox was visibly tired but continued to keep the Ukrainian on his toes. Ultimately, in the 10th round, Berinchik didn’t risk going all out, while Knox stepped up his intensity.
After 10 rounds, the judges decided the outcome of the bout. The result: a unanimous decision (100-90, 99-91, 98-92) in favor of Knox. The British fighter became the WBO International champion.
Denis Berinchik’s Career
This was the 21st fight of Berinchik’s career. He suffered his second loss: the Ukrainian had previously lost in February 2025 to Keishon Davis. After that fight, Berinchik underwent two surgeries and returned to the ring 18 months later.
Berinchik began his professional career in 2015 and won the WBO lightweight world title.
