Will Rain Ruin the First Day of School? A Meteorologist Gives the Forecast for September 1

The first day of school in the capital and the northern regions may be accompanied by precipitation. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" meteorologist Natalia Golenia. She announced the preliminary weather forecast for September 1 for Kyiv and Ukraine.
According to the expert, rainy weather is expected in several regions of Ukraine on September 1.
“A weather front is expected to pass through Kyiv and the surrounding region, and according to today’s calculations, there should be rain. Most likely, precipitation will begin after 12:00 p.m. However, the weather may remain dry until lunchtime,” commented Natalia Golenia.
She noted that residents of Ukraine’s northern regions, in particular, should make sure not to forget their umbrellas at home.
“Rain is forecast for the north on September 1, while the rest of the country will see virtually no precipitation. It will rain in the Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and parts of the Vinnytsia regions,” the meteorologist notes.

As for temperatures, Golenia said the weather will remain comfortable and moderately warm, without any oppressive heat:
“We expect temperatures of 18–20°C in the morning and around 25 degrees Celsius during the day. So, basically, it will be summer-like weather,” Natalia Golenia concluded.
Thus, as the expert predicts, September 1 in Kyiv may start with warm and dry weather, with rain likely toward the afternoon.
