The Dollar and the Euro Have Dropped in Value: The National Bank Has Updated the Exchange Rates for July 9

The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rates for Thursday, July 9, 2026. The U.S. dollar and the euro have once again lost value against the hryvnia, continuing the trend of recent days. This is according to data from the National Bank of Ukraine, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian"

Dollar Exchange Rate

The official exchange rate for the U.S. dollar as of July 9 is:

  • 1 U.S. dollar — 44.47 UAH (–3 kopecks).

Compared to the previous banking day , the U.S. dollar fell from 44.50 UAH to 44.47 UAH.

Euro exchange rate

The European currency also lost ground.

The official euro exchange rate is:

  • 1 euro — 50.70 UAH (–18 kopecks).

The day before , the euro exchange rate was 50.88 UAH.

Zloty Exchange Rate

The official exchange rate for the Polish zloty as of July 9:

  • 1 Polish zloty — approximately 11.81 UAH.

The exact exchange rate is published by the National Bank of Ukraine along with other official exchange rates.

Currencies remain below historic highs

Despite the recent rise in the foreign exchange market, current exchange rates remain below the record highs set in June.

Specifically:

  • the all-time high for the dollar was recorded on June 11, 202644.97 UAH;
  • the euro’s record exchange rate was set on June 16, 2026, at 52.03 UAH.

The current decline in official exchange rates indicates a temporary strengthening of the hryvnia against major world currencies.

Factors Affecting Exchange Rates

The dynamics of the official exchange rate are influenced by conditions in the interbank foreign exchange market, supply and demand for foreign currency, international financial assistance, export and import transactions, and the monetary policy of the National Bank of Ukraine.
