Confiscated assets belonging to the former head of the Supreme Court were transferred to the state budget: the amount exceeded $1.2 million

On August 31, $1,248,700—confiscated pursuant to a ruling by the High Anti-Corruption Court ordering the special confiscation of assets belonging to former Supreme Court Chief Justice Vsevolod Knyazev—was transferred to Ukraine’s state budget. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing a statement by Andriy Haichenko, Deputy Minister of Justice for Enforcement Services at the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
According to the official, the State Enforcement Service of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, has fully executed the court’s ruling on special confiscation.
“The confiscated assets of the former Supreme Court chairman are now working for Ukraine,” the official wrote.
Andriy Gaychenko noted that, based on the official exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine, the confiscated amount totals over 55.6 million hryvnias.
“With these funds, it is possible to purchase approximately 560 FPV drones at the price of one of the current procurements for 2026, or 2,868 average monthly salaries for teachers,” the deputy minister said.
What is known about former Supreme Court Chief Justice Vsevolod Knyazev

In May 2023, NABU detectives caught the then-Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Vsevolod Knyazev, in the act of receiving an illegal benefit. According to the investigation, the total amount of the bribe was $2.7 million. Knyazev was charged under Part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The High Anti-Corruption Court (VAKS) found Knyazev guilty and approved a plea agreement. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison and barred from holding positions in judicial and law enforcement agencies for 3 years.
The court also confiscated his apartment and house in Mykolaiv, 32,000 hryvnias, 1,700 euros, and $201,000. An additional $1.248 million was subject to special confiscation. In addition, Knyazev was required to transfer $1.1 million to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
