SBU CI Department has a new head: what is known about him

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Andriy Tupikov as head of the Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service of Ukraine by Decree No. 900/2024. The relevant document was published on the President’s website, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“To appoint Andriy Anatoliyovych Tupikov as the head of the Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service of Ukraine,” the document says.

What is known about Andriy Tupikov

Andriy Tupikov – worked in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Major of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

He worked as the head of the analytical service of the Special Operations Department of the Main Directorate of the National Guard of Ukraine.

Tupikov has many years of experience in the field of security and protection of Ukraine’s sovereignty. In 2015, he was awarded the Order of Danylo Halytskyi for personal courage and heroism displayed during combat operations and the performance of official duties.

It should be added that in November 2021, Zelenskyy appointed Oleksandr Poklad as the head of the SBU’s Counterintelligence Department. on August 23, 2023, he was dismissed.
