Two explosions occurred in Mykolaiv: what is known about the causes and victims (photos, video)

On February 14,an explosion occurred in a catering establishment in Mykolaiv, killing two people. This wasreported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with citing the police of Mykolaiv region.
It is known that the explosion occurred at about 14:00 on Pogranichna Street in the Kofiteriy catering establishment. Two citizens became victims of an unknown object. They were killed. Eight more people were injured.
Currently, investigators from the regional police department, forensic experts, explosives experts, SBU officers, rescuers and medics are working at the scene.
The photos published by the police show security forces trying to collect the fragments of the explosive device on the sidewalk in front of the broken window of the explosion-affected establishment. It is clear that even the concrete curb was damaged by the explosion.
A local resident who spoke to Suspilne journalists describes the situation as follows:
“I live here, I fell and fainted, I thought a missile had come. I crawled here, then came to my senses. I’m crying and standing here,” Yulia said.
What is written on social media about the explosions in Mykolaiv
Local Telegram channels say that the explosives probably detonated in front of the door of the catering establishment. There is also a second version: a car allegedly detonated near the Kofitherium. It was a demining vehicle that was parked next to the cafe.
It contained explosive items that were removed by experts during the demining operations.

It should be noted that this is not the first explosion in the city today. Earlier, at 10:00, a 41-year-old man blew himself up with an RGD-5 grenade near the intercity bus station on Bohoyavlensky Avenue. Before committing suicide, the man was broadcasting live on one of the social networks. Police opened a criminal investigation into the suicide.
