Poland has reported a possible act of sabotage at a factory producing Ukrainian drones

A fire at the Polish WB Electronics plant, which manufactures drones for the Ukrainian and Polish armies, may have been an act of sabotage, according to Reuters, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
“Everything points to the fact that we are dealing with an act of sabotage,” said Polish Interior Minister Marcin Kirwiński.
The prosecutor’s office has opened a case on suspicion of terrorism and activities in support of a foreign intelligence service.
The fire broke out on August 31 at the plant in Skarżysko-Kamienna, 150 km from Warsaw.
The fire started in one of the production buildings next to a warehouse storing electronic components. Surveillance cameras captured a man wearing a balaclava and carrying a backpack who climbed over the fence onto the factory grounds around midnight.
Investigators believe the man may have set one of the buildings on fire. He is currently being sought. According to Onet, the fire was small and was extinguished within two hours. The damage is estimated at 15 million zlotys (about $4 million).
WB Group is Poland’s largest private defense company. It was founded in 1997 and employs over 2,500 people. In 2025, its revenue totaled approximately 2.9 billion zlotys ($780 million). The company manufactures FlyEye and Warmate drones, communications systems, and electronic equipment.
This is the third fire in recent weeks at a drone manufacturing plant for Ukraine in Europe.
In Slovakia last week, police prevented an arson attack on a plant belonging to the Ukrainian company Skyeton, which manufactures reconnaissance and strike drones.
Three foreigners were detained in connection with the cases in Slovakia and Germany. In Estonia, on August 15, a building used by the defense company Milrem Robotics was set on fire. The company manufactures unmanned ground systems for the Ukrainian army.
In Latvia, three people have been detained on suspicion of organizing an arson attack. Estonian authorities are investigating Russia’s possible involvement.
