Called for deportation: the owner of the “Tatarka” chain is now a defendant in a criminal case

Law enforcement authorities have opened a criminal investigation into remarks made by Vladimir Biryukov, founder of the “Tatarka” restaurant chain, who took to social media to urge Crimean Tatars to “prepare for deportation” following criticism of his establishment.
This was reported by MP Tamila Tasheva, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to her, investigators have initiated proceedings under Part 1 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—violation of the equality of citizens based on their nationality or other characteristics.
“Discrimination and xenophobia are absolutely unacceptable in our society. We are building a lawful and civilized state where respect for every person, regardless of their origin, is a fundamental value,” Tasheva stated.
As a reminder, the scandal arose after the chain announced the opening of a new restaurant in Odesa in May. In the comments on an Instagram post, one user criticized the restaurant’s concept, noting that Tatars and Crimean Tatars are distinct peoples, and that the inclusion of pork dishes on the menu contradicts Crimean Tatar Muslim traditions.
In addition, some users expressed outrage over the restaurant’s name and the use of elements from various cultures under the guise of Crimean Tatar culture.\

In response to the criticism, the chain’s founder initially reacted with the phrase “blah blah blah.”
After one of the commenters stated that with such behavior he had “made enemies of an entire people,”
Biryukov wrote:
“1) We’re looking forward to it, the whole nation; 2) Get ready for deportation.”
These comments were later deleted.
