Terrible accident in Lviv region: bus collides with a truck, 16 injured

An accident involving a bus and a truck occurred on the Kyiv-Chop highway in the Stryi district of Lviv region. The bus driver was killed and 16 people were injured, including four children. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the National Police.
Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that an Etalon bus driven by a 62-year-old resident of the Stryi district and a DAF truck driven by a 54-year-old resident of Kherson collided.
“The bus driver died at the scene from the injuries sustained in the accident. The truck driver and 15 bus passengers – girls aged 1, 7, 10, and 17, ten women aged 19 to 64, and a 37-year-old man – all residents of Stryi district – were injured and taken to medical institutions,” the statement said.
Criminal proceedings have been opened under the article on violation of traffic safety rules (Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The circumstances of the incident are being established.
