There will be no power cuts in Ukraine on 1 August

1 August 2024 01:35

On Thursday, 1 August, stabilisation disconnections of Ukrainian consumers from electricity will not be applied. About it reports "Komersant Ukrainian"with reference to the press service of “Ukrenergo”.

“On 1 August power cuts are not planned. In case of changes in the energy system about the introduction of restrictions will be reported additionally,” – stated in the message.

Ukrainians were urged to use powerful electrical appliances from 11.00 to 15.00, when the morning peak of consumption has already fallen, and the evening peak has not yet come.

We will remind, during the last week in Ukraine began to switch off less light according to schedules. This is due to the fact that consumption has decreased against the background of cooling after a strong heat wave. Also came out of repair several nuclear power units.

Situation in the Ukrainian energy sector

on 29 March 2024, Russia resumed attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector, carrying out the most massive shelling during the full-scale war. In particular, the Dneproges and other Ukrainian energy facilities were hit. Since then, Russia has regularly shelled Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities.

For example, the Russians destroyed Tripilska and Zmievska TPPs, as a result of which Centrenergo lost 100% of its generation. Five out of six thermal power plants of DTEK were also badly damaged.

After that, blackouts started again in Ukraine, Ukrenergo introduced blackout schedules, and the government raised the electricity tariff by 60% at once.

At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers intends to build two new units at the Khmelnytskyy nuclear power plant and has already received approval from the relevant parliamentary committee. The Razumkov Centre criticized these plans, but some experts believe that only traitors or scoundrels are against the construction of the nuclear power plant today.
