In two months of operation, the US-Ukraine Investment Fund for Reconstruction has selected 22 projects for further development, eight of which are already at an advanced stage of preparation and form a portfolio with an estimated value of $1.2 billion. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
The US-Ukraine Investment Fund for Reconstruction has summed up the results of its first two months of work.
“During this time, 138 investment applications were submitted through the Investportal. Based on the results of the project search committee’s work, 22 projects were selected for further consideration. Eight of them are already at an advanced stage of preparation and form a portfolio with an estimated value of $1.2 billion,” the statement said.
The largest number of applications came from the energy and energy security sector—53 projects. Next came transport and logistics infrastructure—14 projects, critical minerals—10 projects, and new technologies—7 projects. There was one project in the field of digital and telecom infrastructure.
“The number of applications submitted and the interest from international investors confirm the main thing: Ukraine has significant unrealized investment potential, and we are already seeing how it is turning into specific reconstruction projects,” said Yegor Perelygin, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture and Head of Investment.
As part of improving the selection procedure, the fund’s team also updated the website to make the process of submitting and reviewing investment initiatives more structured and transparent.
Recall:
Earlier it was reported that the US-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund received more than 60 project proposals during the first month of accepting applications. Of these, 37 were from Ukrainian companies.
The United States–Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund was established on the basis of an agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the United States of America.
The Fund’s authorized capital is formed from contributions from both parties in equal shares — $75 million from the United States through the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and from Ukraine. The total initial capital is $150 million.
