15 dead: Russian drone attacks DTEK bus near Pavlohrad

On Sunday, February 1, Russians attacked a service bus carrying miners in the Dnipropetrovsk region with a drone. Fifteen people were killed and seven more were injured as a result of the attack.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Telegram channel of the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha, and the channel of the deputy mayor of Ternivka, Oleksandr Dobrovolsky.
“The enemy targeted a UAV next to a company bus in the Pavlohrad district. We are investigating the details,” Ganza said.
At the same time, the State Emergency Service and the deputy mayor of Ternivka also confirmed the information about the attack and the victims. The National Police also reported that a bus burned down as a result of the Russian Federation’s strike on civilian infrastructure.
What is known about the victims
As of 17:38, 15 people were known to have died as a result of the attack. As it turned out, the victims of the Russian attack were DTEK miners.
“The epicenter of one of the attacks was a work bus that was transporting miners from the enterprise after their shift in the Dnipropetrovsk region. At this time, 15 miners are known to have died. According to preliminary information, seven miners were also wounded,” the company said.
Russian strikes on DTEK
It should be noted that throughout 2025, the Russians repeatedly attacked DTEK miners.
In particular, on the night of December 12, the enemy struck one of the coal mines with drones for six hours. As a result of the shelling, two people were wounded.
In addition, on October 25, the occupiers also struck a DTEK mine in the Dnipropetrovsk region. During the attack, 496 mine employees were underground, but fortunately, no one was injured. Incidentally, this was the seventh large-scale attack on DTEK coal enterprises in the last two months.
