Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that Ukraine is preparing a new one-time social payment of UAH 1,500 for the most vulnerable segments of the population. Nearly 13 million people will receive assistance. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to a statement by the head of the Ukrainian government on Telegram.

“Following discussions with the President of Ukraine, we are preparing a new support package for the people,” the prime minister said.

The following will receive the additional payment:

  • pensioners of retirement age;
  • people with disabilities;
  • low-income citizens;
  • recipients of basic social assistance;
  • internally displaced persons;
  • families with children.

In total, almost 13 million people are eligible for the payment.

The money will be paid out in a single installment in April. It will be transferred using the same mechanisms that people use to receive social benefits—to bank accounts or through Ukrposhta.

“The payments will be made within the framework of the current budget programs of the Ministry of Social Policy,” Svyrydenko said.

As a reminder, pensions were indexed in Ukraine on March 1. The increase coefficient was 12.1%, and the recalculation affected about 10 million people, including pensioners under general law, military personnel, and Chernobyl accident liquidators.
