The problems in the 155th separate mechanized brigade “Anna Kyivska” could have been solved locally with the participation of commanders and all levels of management. This was stated by the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapaty during the telethon “United News”, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
As you know, the real state of affairs in the 155th Brigade “Anna Kyivska” was the subject of an investigation by journalist Yuriy Butusov. He drew attention to the inadequate training of the brigade’s military, reported numerous facts of unauthorized abandonment of the unit, failure to provide the brigade with drones, etc.
Mykhailo Drapaty, the commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, admitted that a number of facts had occurred.
“For my part, I have a negative attitude to all these manifestations and to what could have been corrected locally by all levels of command, all commanders,” the major general emphasized.
He expressed confidence that the problems voiced would be refuted over time. It was reported that the brigade is currently performing combat missions in the eastern sector. According to Censor.NET, the telethon featured the work of the Leopard tank crew, which effectively destroys enemy positions.

The situation in the 155th Brigade was also discussed on January 5 at a monthly meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
“I paid special attention to building up the capabilities of the unmanned systems unit of the 155th Mechanized Brigade, as well as to the problematic issues that need to be resolved. I gave all the necessary orders,” said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi at the time.
It should also be added that the situation around the 155th Brigade has attracted the attention of the State Bureau of Investigation, which is investigating the relevant criminal case under articles on abuse of power and desertion.
on January 5, Yuriy Butusov said that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had taken the situation around the 155th Brigade “Anna Kyivska” under his personal control during the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff.
France confirms the facts of CWS among the brigade’s military
A representative of the French army said the day before that “there were indeed some cases of desertion among Ukrainian soldiers, but their number was very small given the total number of those who had undergone training.” This was reported by France24 with reference to the AFP agency.

As the French military explained, the Ukrainian soldiers “were in French barracks and had the right to leave.” He added that the Ukrainian military were subject to a disciplinary regime “established by the Ukrainian command.”
The French military officer also explained that desertion was not criminalized in France, and if someone deserted, the French prosecutor had no authority to arrest the person. According to him, the right granted to the Ukrainian authorities on French soil is only a disciplinary right.
