On February 17, power cuts will be implemented in all regions: what is known

17 February 01:30

On Tuesday, February 17, hourly power outages will be in effect in all regions of Ukraine. In addition, power restrictions will be applied to industrial enterprises. This was reported by Ukrenergo on Telegram, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

The restrictions are being introduced to stabilize the power system and prevent network overload after damage caused by Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.

Power outages will affect all regions of Ukraine

As noted by Ukrenergo, power outage schedules will be applied simultaneously in all regions.

“On February 17, hourly power outage schedules and power restriction schedules (for industrial consumers) will be applied in all regions of Ukraine,” the company said.

At the same time, the power system operator did not specify the exact scope of restrictions for residential consumers. The power cut schedules may vary depending on the region, city, and specific area.

Where to check the power outage schedule

Ukrainians are advised to check the latest information on power outages on the official websites of distribution system operators (oblenergo) in their regions.

It is the oblenergo that determines:

  • the exact time of the power outage;
  • the duration of the restrictions;
  • the order of outages;
  • the areas covered by the schedules.

Energy experts emphasize that the situation in the power system remains dynamic, so the schedules may change depending on the load level and the technical condition of the networks.

Where to find your power outage schedule

Ukrenergo urges Ukrainians to follow updates on the official websites of their region’s power companies. They publish current schedules and changes in power cuts.

Information for each region is updated on social media on the official pages of the regional power distribution companies:

Industry will also operate with restrictions

In addition to domestic consumers, restrictions will also affect industrial enterprises. Special power restriction schedules will be applied to them.

This will allow:

  • reduce the load on the power system;
  • avoid emergency shutdowns;
  • ensure the stable operation of critical infrastructure;
  • maintain a balance between electricity production and consumption.

Why are power outage schedules being introduced?

The main reason for the restrictions remains the consequences of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

According to government officials, damage to energy facilities has affected the stability of the power system and economic activity.

At the same time, the Ministry of Energy reported that the electricity supply situation is gradually improving thanks to:

  • the continuous work of repair crews;
  • the restoration of damaged facilities;
  • optimization of the power system;
  • favorable weather conditions.

Ukrainians are urged to save electricity

Energy companies are calling on citizens to be responsible in their consumption of electricity, especially during peak hours.

Rational use of electricity helps to:

  • reduce the risk of emergency power cuts;
  • stabilize the power grid;
  • speed up the restoration of stable electricity supply;
  • reduce the load on the grid.

Experts recommend avoiding the simultaneous use of energy-intensive appliances during peak load hours, if possible.
