november 26 – round-the-clock power outages: what you need to know
26 November 02:43
On Wednesday, November 26, Ukraine will continue to have hourly power cut-off schedules. The round-the-clock blackouts were announced by Ukrenergo, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The reason is the consequences of another massive missile and drone attack by Russia on the Ukrainian power system, which caused a power shortage and damage to key facilities.
Why there will be electricity restrictions on November 26
According to Ukrenergo, the power system is operating under high load. The shelling damaged equipment at some TPPs and substations, and generation volumes do not cover the evening and morning consumption peaks.
Therefore, the transmission system operator is forced to apply outage schedules as a tool to stabilize the grid and prevent accidents.
How the schedules will work on November 26
Hourly outages for households: from 00:00 to 23:59
- All household consumers in the country will be switched to hourly stabilization outage schedules.
- The scope of restrictions will range from 0.5 to 2.5 queues, depending on the region and current load.
- The duration and time of outages may vary in each region – this data is published by local power distribution companies.
Restrictions for business and industry
- Electricity consumption limits for industrial enterprises will be in effect from 00:00 to 23:59.
- In case of exceeding the set level, automatic or manual shutdown is possible.
Subject to change: power engineers warn of flexible schedules
“Ukrenergo emphasizes that the time and scope of restrictions can be promptly adjusted if the deficit increases or circumstances at energy facilities change.
Therefore, Ukrainians are asked to follow the official announcements of their regional power distribution companies in order not to miss the updated schedules.
What do power engineers ask for
- If you have electricity, use it sparingly.
- Turn on powerful appliances gradually so as not to create load surges.
- If possible, move energy-intensive processes to nighttime hours when consumption is lower.
- Stay tuned for updates – schedules may change depending on the state of the system.
