UAH 436 million of National Cashback: Ukrainians set a new record in December

In December 2024, Ukrainians accumulated UAH 436 million under the National Cashback program. This is UAH 180 million more than in the previous month and almost UAH 50 million more than was paid in the previous three months combined. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Yulia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, emphasized the growing popularity of the program among different age groups and its positive impact on supporting national producers.
As of the end of December 2024, 4.5 million people had joined the program and activated their cashback cards in the Diia app. on December 24, the cashback for November was paid in the amount of UAH 232 million, which was received by 2 million Ukrainians.
However, the next cashback payment for December 2024 and January 2025 is scheduled for the end of February 2025. The Ministry claims that this is due to the peculiarities of the budget process.
A demographic analysis of program participants shows that
- 57.4% of users are people under the age of 45;
- 22.4% are middle-aged users (45-60 years old);
- 20.2% – older people (60 years old);
- 62.3% of participants are women, 37.7% are men.
At the same time, there are no complete statistics for 2024, but in the first 11 months, the National Cashback program did not work and provided only 0.001% of GDP growth.

How the National Cashback works
The state refunds 10% of the cost of Ukrainian goods from a special list purchased in participating stores. The funds are transferred to a special National Cashback card, which cannot be withdrawn.
The program involves 17 partner banks, including the country’s largest financial institutions. The number of participating manufacturers has reached 1665, and the total number of Ukrainian goods covered by cashback is 360 thousand items.
What you can spend the money on:
- Utilities.
- Medical services.
- Education.
- Transportation.
- Mobile communication.
- Insurance.
- Books and printed materials.
- Medicines and medical products of Ukrainian origin.
- Charity.
- Donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine through charitable foundations.
The maximum cashback amount is 3000 UAH per month.
How to join the program
To participate in the program, you need to apply through the mobile application of an authorized bank or contact a branch, open a National Cashback card and activate it in the Diia application.
