A survey has been launched today in the Army app to help determine the new head of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Army Academy. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

The survey presents five candidates selected by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi and the Commander of the Land Forces Mykhailo Drapaty.

Who are the candidates:

Colonel Oleksandr Bakulin, commander of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Kosh Ataman Kostyantyn Hordiyenko;

Colonel Yevhen Lasiychuk, commander of the 25th Airborne Brigade of the Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;

Brigadier General Serhiy Baranov, Head of the Main Directorate for Missile Program Support;

Colonel Roman Kachur, commander of the 55th separate artillery brigade “Zaporizhzhya Sich”.

The poll will run until January 17. Based on the results of the voting, a decision will be made to appoint a new head of the Academy.

“Every serviceman who uses the Army can not only support one of the five experienced candidates for the position of the head of the Academy, but also offer their ideas on how to improve the work of the institution,” emphasized the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.

According to him, the results of this survey will become an important benchmark for systemic reforms in the key military education institution of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defense reminded that the survey service in the Army app was launched on August 8, 2024. During this time, 8 surveys were conducted.

As reported by [Kommersant], the previous head of the Petro Sahaidachny National Army Academy, Lieutenant General Pavlo Tkachuk, was dismissed from his post after an audit by the Defense Ministry. At the time, the academy’s cadets complained of harassment, humiliation, and bullying. They also reported the lack of necessary medicines at the infirmary, poor quality food, and the so-called “company cashier” when cadets had to chip in to buy printers, paper, and detergents.
