Nearly 18,000 families have already received the one-time childbirth benefit, and 82,000 have received the monthly child care allowance for children under one year of age. This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
“On January 1, a law came into effect in Ukraine that increased a number of ‘child-related’ benefits and significantly strengthened support for families. Its goal is not only to help parents financially but also to create conditions for balancing child-rearing with work,” the statement reads.
According to the ministry, nearly 82,000 families are already receiving monthly child care benefits for children under one year of age—7,000 hryvnias, or 10,500 hryvnias for families raising a child with a disability.
Almost 18,000 families have already received a one-time payment of 50,000 hryvnias upon the birth of a child.
For working parents, the “eYasla” program is in effect—this is a monthly allowance of 8,000 hryvnias (12,000 hryvnias for families with children with disabilities), the ministry notes. Currently, it has already been granted to nearly 4,000 recipients.
Pregnancy and childbirth benefits have been granted to nearly 13,000 women. This amounts to 7,000 hryvnias, which are paid for each month the medical certificate for the “Pregnancy and Childbirth” category is valid.
You can apply for these payments offline—at branches of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, Administrative Service Centers, or through authorized community representatives. Through the “eMalyatko” service, you can currently apply for childbirth assistance and receive the “Baby Package.”
“At the same time, the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, is working to make these types of payments available in the ‘Diya’ app as soon as possible,” the statement reads.
As a reminder, starting January 1, 2026, Ukraine has established a one-time childbirth benefit in the amount of 50,000 UAH. The entire amount is paid out at once, rather than in installments as before. You can apply for the benefit through the “eMalyatko” service in the “Diya” app or at branches of the Pension Fund of Ukraine within 12 months after the birth.
