Already 3,000 seafarers have been able to appoint a proxy to collect their qualification documents using the Notary Public Deed, thus saving $600,000. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

According to the official, an offline power of attorney would cost an average of $200, but in Diia, this service is completely free. Seafarers have been able to use it for two months.

Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized that the path to digitalization of seafarers’ qualification documents was very difficult.

“Just imagine: you are constantly on voyages abroad, and all the papers have to be issued in Ukraine at the Shipping Administration, and you have to pick them up in person when they are ready. Usually, this was done by a relative under a power of attorney. Therefore, we have digitalized this process and from now on, qualification documents can be obtained online through the Diia portal,” the Minister said.

Once this service is available in Diia, a seafarer simply submits an application through the portal, and his representative receives a letter with a decision and a QR code on his e-mail and collects the seafarer’s documents.

In two months, 3,000 seafarers have already used this service and saved $600,000 as a result.

In total, Diia now has almost 21 million registered unique users.

Among the most popular services in the app are services for drivers, automatic registration and closure of sole proprietorships. The Diia.Signature service has been used more than 39 million times.

Ukrainians are also actively buying military bonds in Diia, and Ukrainians are actively ordering extracts and certificates from registers both in the app and on the Diia portal.
