The U.S. Supreme Court has allowed the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump to withhold $4 billion allocated by Congress for foreign aid. This was stated by Judge Elena Kagan, according to CBS News, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

The consequence of this decision is that the country’s authorities have the opportunity to stop using the money allocated by Congress for foreign aid. These funds will not reach their intended recipients, the document says.

However, Kagan, as well as Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson and Judge Sonia Sotomayor, did not support this decision.

In early September, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Republican Marjorie Taylor Green, proposed to cut military aid to Ukraine. According to her, American taxpayers have already spent more than $175 billion to support Ukraine, and this is enough, and the United States can no longer afford to finance foreign wars.
