Farmers in combat zones to receive additional subsidies

Farmers working in the war zone will receive an additional cash subsidy. This was announced during a government meeting by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, reports
According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution to launch a programme to support farmers. The assistance will be provided to farmers working in the frontline regions.
Thus, Ukraine will pay one thousand hryvnias per hectare of land if a farmer works in the area of possible hostilities. Farmers working in the war zone will receive UAH 2,000 per hectare.
“We understand how difficult it is to sow and harvest on these lands and in these communities, so we will support our people who work there,” Shmyhal assured.
He also said that applications for the next support programme have been accepted this week. This is to help those who develop irrigation systems. If a farmer invests his own funds, the state will support him by covering up to 50% of the costs of reconstruction or construction of new irrigation systems.

- compensation for the cost of domestic agricultural machinery – up to 25%. This applies to equipment purchased since April 2024.
- grants for the development of gardens and greenhouses – up to UAH 10 million or UAH 7 million, respectively. You can also get up to UAH 8 million to set up a processing plant.
