Albania has confirmed its readiness to support Ukraine in 2026 within the framework of the international PURL program.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Ukrinform, as stated by Albanian Foreign Minister Eliza Spiropali.
She stressed that Albania has already provided Ukraine with significant humanitarian and military assistance and intends to continue this support.
“Our prime minister and our government are committed to working within the PURL program. We are a member of NATO, and we view our responsibility in NATO as burden-sharing,” the minister said at a joint briefing with her Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sybiga in Kyiv.
In 2026, the country plans to move beyond the PURL program by developing new formats for bilateral cooperation.
What is PURL
PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) is a joint US-NATO program aimed at accelerating the supply of weapons to Ukraine. As part of this initiative, Kyiv compiles a list of its most important weapons needs and submits it to its allies.
The partners, in turn, finance the purchase of American weapons that meet the stated requirements.
The main goal of PURL is to provide Ukraine with regular arms deliveries worth about $500 million. Among the priorities identified by Ukraine itself are the critically needed Patriot systems. NATO coordinates the logistics and transportation of military equipment.
