Military lawyer Dmytro Prylypko in an interview with the YouTube channel
The lawyer is convinced that amnesty after the Victory will be a way to restore trust between the state and citizens who have gone through the front or difficult life circumstances of war.
“I believe in an amnesty for HRH after the Victory. I believe that amnesty will be one of the factors that will allow people in power to politically justify themselves or allow them to use it as an additional element of political influence,” said Prylypko.
He also added that many of the military who are now outside the limits of free movement had serious reasons for such a step – psychological exhaustion, injuries, or other circumstances related to the war.
“And there are people who will support this position. There are people who are now outside the limits of free movement. They have really difficult life circumstances, they had reasons to go to the SZH. And here, they say, if you do such a good thing for these people, people will treat you better, they will trust you,” the lawyer emphasized.
Article 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment for unauthorized leaving of a military unit or place of service. Under martial law, such actions are considered particularly serious crimes.
