UAF President Andriy Shevchenko said that he plans to run for a seat on the executive committee of the Union of European Football Associations.

He said this during a press conference at the Football House, where he reported on his first year as UAF president, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

When asked whether Shevchenko would run for the executive committee and whether he knew what happened to the previous member of the executive committee, Andriy Pavelko, he replied:

“I don’t have any information, we have recalled him, as well as almost all members of his team. The structure has changed. Yes, I was nominated by our executive committee to the ExCo (UEFA Executive Committee – ed.). I will run for the position.”

Shevchenko was also asked what the UAF’s next steps would be after Anatoliy Tymoshuk won an appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne against the Ukrainian Football Association to strip him of all his titles.

“Tymoshchuk does not exist and will not exist in Ukrainian football. This is the unequivocal position of the entire community, mine and all of us. The fact that he won the appeal in CAS was not our decision, so… I can say that for all of us he does not exist in Ukrainian football, and for me it is unequivocal. That’s why I don’t think his topic should be raised at all,” Shevchenko said.
