Antimonopoly Committee imposes a record fine on juice producer Galicia

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has imposed a fine on one of the country’s largest juice producers, TB Fruit Capital LLC. The total amount of sanctions is UAH 39.1 million. This was reported by the regulator’s press service, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The violations relate to the company’s acquisition of stakes in four companies without prior permission from the AMCU, which is a violation of the Law on Protection of Economic Competition.

“In July 2021, TB Fruit Capital LLC acquired 100% of the shares in Arsenal Investgroup Khmelnytsky, Arsenal Investgroup Vinnytsia, Arsenal Investgroup, Arsenal Investgroup, and Arsenal Investgroup Horodok without the approval of the Antimonopoly Committee. For these actions, the company was fined a total of UAH 39.1 million,” the AMCU said in a statement.

The Committee emphasized that such actions fall under Article 50(12) of the Law “On Protection of Economic Competition” – concentration without obtaining the appropriate permit.

What is known about the company

According to the YouControl system, TB Fruit Capital LLC is indirectly owned by Taras Koliankovsky from Lviv and is part of TBF Group. Until April 2024, the company’s beneficiaries included Iryna and Svyatoslav Barshchovsky, the children of the group’s founder, Taras Barshchovsky.

TBF Group is a Ukrainian group of companies that has been specializing in fruit processing and concentrated juice production for over 20 years. According to its official website, the company is one of the largest producers of concentrated juice in Europe, has its own production facilities and exports its products to international markets.

The group also includes a natural juice factory that produces products under the Galicia and Svitanok brands.
