The National Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) has transferred ten seized ships owned by companies affiliated with the aggressor state into management. The new manager is MARINEx, which was selected through an open tender. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the ARMA.
Budget breakthrough: uAH 5.7 million monthly
From now on, the state budget of Ukraine will receive more than UAH 5.7 million per month. This is a significant contrast to the previous agreements concluded by the old ARMA leadership, according to which the state received only UAH 10 thousand per month for each ship.
After an audit and the discovery of unfavorable terms, the new management of the agency, headed by Olena Duma, initiated the termination of the old contracts in favor of the state’s interests.
What exactly was transferred to management
Among the assets transferred to the new manager is the EMMAKRIS III vessel, which was arrested by the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv in April 2023.
This is the first time that this vessel has been transferred to management.
All ships remain under control and are not allowed to go to sea – security measures are coordinated with the Shipping Administration.
Benefit for the state and security are the priorities
The ARMA noted that it does not just store seized assets – it makes them work for the country’s economy. This is a transition from formal storage to effective management.
The agency is currently preparing initiatives for the NSDC to sell the seized vessels, which will generate even more revenue for the state budget and prevent their return to Russia.
