Artifacts of former Minister Dmytro Kuleba to help Ukrainian military

Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has put up personal belongings and gifts from “friends from different countries” for a charity auction to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Komersant ukrainskyi, this was announced by Dmytro Kuleba himself. He called his auction on Instagram “Artefacts”.

“For 4.5 years, I had the honour to serve Ukraine as Minister of Foreign Affairs,” said Kuleba. “I am grateful to everyone who supported me and the MFA team during this time of great challenges. It was a very honourable job, and after the Russian invasion began, it was the most honourable position in world diplomacy for 2.5 years. During this time, I have accumulated gifts and personal belongings – some I bought with my own money, some were given to me by friends from different countries. But they have one thing in common – each of them has its own story. And I decided that the best solution would be not to look at them on the shelves at home, remembering the old days, but to give each of you the opportunity to get a part of the great history of Ukraine and make a contribution to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I guarantee transparency and accountability of the funds raised,” said Dmytro Kuleba.

He urged to join the charity auction @artefakty_kuleba

“I will send you a postcard with a personal signature for each lot you buy. The most important thing now is to do everything in our power to support our defenders. Glory to them and glory to Ukraine!” the former official concluded.

What artefacts are up for grabs at the charity auction

In total, 29 items are presented at the @artefakty_kuleba auction. The auction page contains photos of the artefacts and descriptions. Here are just three items that are waiting for their new owners.

  • A unique White House horse in honour of the first foreign visit of the President of Ukraine after the start of the full-scale invasion in December 2022. It was created to commemorate this historic event.
  • A bottle of aged and famous Guatemalan rum Zacapa with Dmytro Kuleba’s autograph on the box. This bottle was presented to him in Guatemala.
  • One of Dmytro Kuleba’s favourite ties. Again, it’s about elephants. He wore it in Africa, when he needed to combine brightness with endurance.

The auction runs until 25.10 (18:00). The minimum bid is 300 UAH. All proceeds will go to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
