Artem Sytnyk gets new position: what will he be responsible for

Artem Sytnyk, who was dismissed as deputy head of the NAPC on 3 June, has been promoted to a new position. He has been appointed deputy director of the Defence Procurement Agency, reports [Kommersant] reports citing Zn.ua.

He will be responsible not only for the security of procurement but also for the functioning of the institution as a whole. Currently, the Defence Procurement Agency of Ukraine is headed by Maryna Bezrukova. She was appointed to the post in 2024.

It is worth noting that from 2015 to 2022, Artem Sytnyk served as the Director of the NABU. On 12 May 2022, the former director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, Artem Sytnyk, was appointed deputy head of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.

What we know about Artem Sytnyk

Sytnyk is a lawyer and has been Deputy Head of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption since 12 May 2022. He is known for being the first director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (2015-2022).

He began his career as an assistant prosecutor in the Leninsky district of Kropyvnytskyi, then worked as an investigator and senior investigator.

In 2004, Sytnyk was transferred to the Kirovohrad Region Prosecutor’s Office as a senior investigator, and two years later he became the head of the Investigation Department. Subsequently, Sytnyk became the head of the Investigation Department of the Kyiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.

After leaving the prosecutor’s office in 2011, Artem Sytnyk worked as a managing partner at the Legal Guarantees law firm and as a lawyer at the Compass law firm.
