UEFA’s arithmetic: suspended Russia gets more points than Ukraine

The European Football Federation UEFA has decided to continue awarding rating points to Russian football teams despite their suspension from international competitions. This is evidenced by the indicators of the table of coefficients of national associations, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"
According to the decision of the UEFA Executive Committee of 18 April 2024, after the 2024/25 season, Russia will receive the minimum number of points it has scored in one season over the past five years before the suspension.
This will be 4,333 points for men’s teams and 1,750 points for women’s teams.
Russia received the same number of points – 4,333 – for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons. Last season, this was more points than Ukrainian clubs that fully participated in European competitions.

At the same time, Russia’s actions have undermined the development of Ukrainian football, forcing teams to play abroad and lose legionnaires, and Ukrainian players to defend their land and die fighting for it.
Despite this, the Russians will continue to be awarded points in the coefficient table. This decision was made even after Russia included Crimean teams in its second league, in violation of UEFA recommendations.
After the full-scale Russian invasion, UEFA suspended Russian clubs from the competition, but apparently retained its love and respect for Russia.
