Drone attack on occupied Crimea: powerful explosions in Saki, Feodosia and Yevpatoria, oil depot on fire

6 October 2025 10:42

On the night of October 6, 2025, the temporarily occupied Crimea came under a massive attack by Ukrainian drones. Explosions were heard in several key areas: near the Saki airfield in Novofedorivka, in Feodosia (where a fire broke out at an oil depot), Yevpatoria, Simferopol district, and near the Kacha airfield. The occupation authorities of Crimea have not provided official comments, but Russian telegram channels and social networks are full of reports about the consequences, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The attack began around 00:23 local time. The first to come under attack were military facilities in Novofedorivka, where the Saki airfield, a Russian air force base, is located. Local residents reported a series of explosions, which were followed by the activation of air defense systems.

Almost an hour later, at about 01:20, explosions were heard in Feodosia, Yevpatoria and Simferopol district. Separate strikes were recorded near the village of Andriivka, near the Kacha airfield. In Sevastopol, an air raid alarm was sounded in military units.

In total, analysts estimate that more than 10-15 explosions were recorded across the peninsula, including Alushta and Simferopol.

Large-scale fire at the oil depot in Feodosia

The most serious consequences were recorded in Feodosia, where drones hit an oil depot, the largest oil terminal on the occupied peninsula. According to local public reports, the strike led to an explosion of a fuel tank, which caused a massive fire. The flames can be seen for tens of kilometers, and smoke is rising over the city.

The oil depot has been attacked several times before: only 22 of 34 tanks remained intact, and the current attack could significantly weaken the occupiers’ logistics.

The Crimean Wind Telegram channel published a video from the scene: the footage shows bright flashes, smoke and the sound of explosions.

Local sources confirm: “Another fuel tank caught fire in Feodosia”. Similar reports appeared on social media, where users shared videos of the burning base.

Strikes on military targets: Yevpatoriya, Kacha and radars

In Yevpatoria, a military unit between the city and the village of Zatyshne (or Uyutne) was hit. According to preliminary data, one of the Russian air defense radars was damaged.

Explosions were also heard near the Kacha airfield, where helicopters and other occupiers’ equipment are stationed.

Photos and videos with bright flashes in the sky over these areas were posted online.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of 251 Ukrainian UAVs over Russian regions, including 40 over Crimea, 62 over the Black Sea, and 5 over the Sea of Azov. However, official sources are still silent about the fire at the oil depot in Feodosia.

Local telegram channels, on the other hand, are recording the consequences: “107 Ukrainian UAVs in Crimea are the result of flights by American partners conducting reconnaissance.”

The occupation authorities of Crimea do not comment on the events, but the alarm was raised in Sevastopol and other areas. Analysts say the attack may be part of a wider operation: explosions were reported in other regions of the Russian Federation, such as Nizhny Novgorod and Tuapse, at the same time.
