The strike of the Russian army on the center of Sumy will be considered by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence. This was reported on Radio Liberty by Fedir Venislavsky, MP, representative of the committee, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Among other things, the committee will find out whether there was a meeting of the Ukrainian military for awarding the day before.
“Tomorrow we will have a committee meeting. This issue is also one of the questions we plan to ask the military leadership, the Ministry of Defense, the Chief of Staff,” said the representative of the Servant of the People faction.
According to him, the committee will find out whether the military had actually gathered for the awards the day before.
“Our MPs have already disseminated information that there was indeed to be an award ceremony. Russian propaganda channels are already using this information to justify their terrorist attack by saying that there was indeed an award ceremony. I don’t have any information now whether there was or wasn’t. But, judging by indirect facts, some kind of meeting was planned there,” Venislavsky said.
The MP added that “a certain number” of soldiers died as a result of the Russian attack on Sumy, although it could have been “the result of accidental actions.”
“During the war, many servicemen were in Sumy, including on family, personal, military matters, they could have been there,” he explained his opinion.
Vensilavsky added that this is one of the questions that the committee plans to ask the military leadership, the Ministry of Defense, and the Chief of the General Staff at the meeting.
Asked whether it could have been a deliberate “leak” of information to the enemy, he said that “this is the competence of the Security Service of Ukraine.” He believes that if there was indeed a meeting of the military and a missile strike was launched at that location, “then Russia certainly got this information from somewhere.”
As a reminder, on April 13, Palm Sunday, Russia struck the center of Sumy with two ballistic missiles. As of April 15, 36 people were reported dead.
on April 14, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artyukh, denied that the awarding of the 117th Brigade of the TRO on the day of the attack was organized on his initiative. on April 15, he was dismissed from his post.
