The attack of the Allied Forces has begun: the fighting brotherhood has prevailed

A unique event took place in Ukraine that has already gone down in the history of Ukrainian football and the Ukrainian army. A friendly charity football match was held between the teams of two prominent units of the Defense Forces, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The teams of the glorious Third Separate Assault Brigade and the Russian Volunteer Corps, a special unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, took part in the sporting confrontation for the sake of a common victory.
Both units know each other and have a common combat history. They took part in the defense of Avdiivka Coke in the fall of 2023, defended Vovchansk together, and interacted in various hot spots on the frontline. That is why the soldiers of the 3rd Brigade chose this team to represent the Allied Forces.4
The match was organized by the Maestro Air BRO School of Unmanned Systems Operators, which has good relations and joint activities with both scouts and soldiers of the Land Forces.
The teams came to the field well-equipped: each team wore its own original uniform, which was designed specifically for this tournament by specialists of the Ukrainian sportswear brand.
White Rex founder and commander Denys Nikitin believes the main goal of the match is to give the soldiers on rotation an opportunity to switch their attention from combat missions.
“Russian propaganda portrays us as mercenaries who are here in Ukraine only to fight and die. But this event demonstrates to everyone that our unit is a part of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and is not off the battlefield. Our soldiers were performing combat missions a week ago and will return to the front very soon. So it’s important that thanks to this event they can forget about the war for at least one day, run around, play football, laugh, and get away from the horror they have been in for three years now,” says White Rex, “It’s an honor for us to play with the guys from the Third Assault Brigade. They are powerful warriors with whom we are ready to fight the enemy on the battlefield and compete on the football field.”
The 3OshB team approached the match with the intention of winning. Its roster was strengthened by players from Maestro Air BRO, Ukrainian showbiz stars Andriy Dzhedzhula, Anatoliy Anatolich and Vadym Oliynyk.
The team’s coach and captain, a fighter with the call sign Zhuravel, expressed a pragmatic view of the match’s goals:
“The situation at the front is very difficult. That is why we need more equipment to protect our personnel and conduct successful combat operations. At this match we are raising funds for an M113 armored personnel carrier. And this is our main goal now.”
Meanwhile, the teams lined up on the field. The participants and fans of both teams paid tribute to their fallen comrades with a minute of silence. The Ukrainian anthem was performed by Sisters Mix. After welcoming remarks by the teams’ coaches, a unique match between the Allied forces – the Third Assault Brigade and the RDC – began.
The 3rd Assault Brigade dominated the field throughout the match. It was clear that the RDC fighters had not played on a real full-size football field for a long time.
In addition, it was very difficult to compete with experienced players such as Zhuravel, Dzhejula, Anatolich and Oliynyk.
Therefore, the score in favor of Troika was a predictable result. But the main thing was not the score.
This match allowed real warriors, fighting together against a common enemy, to get rid of military stress for at least a day, to play, cheer, and communicate with their teammates.
The competition also has a super-task, says Anatoliy Polkovnikov, co-organizer of the event, one of the founders of the NGOs FC Maestro and Maestro Air BRO, and a volunteer:
“We didn’t focus on it, but today, for the first time in 10 years, citizens of Russia and Ukraine took part in an official competition on the Ukrainian football field. These are the fighters of the RDC unit, which is part of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the scouts who are very effective in the war and the Third Assault Brigade. At a time when Russians who supported Putin’s tyranny have been banned from sports around the world, those who sided with Ukraine are participating in sports projects and playing football freely with world stars.
Of course, this event should show the Russians the differences between what is happening in our country and in theirs, show them the way to a free life, persuade Russian football fans to side with Ukraine, surrender, desert, join international units of the Allied Forces, such as the RDC. This will weaken the enemy and strengthen our combat potential.”
“Today’s match has shown that football unites the boys, raises their morale and that life is not limited to war,” said match organizer Petro “Stone” Voloshchenko, “and we, as organizers, will work with various units to organize such sporting events to attract more young people to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and motivate them to work together for victory. We wish the guys inspiration both on the football fields and on the battlefield.”
He also hinted that this match is only the beginning of a large football marathon of the Allied Forces, which will involve teams of fighters from international units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, as well as troops from allies in the anti-Putin coalition.
This will raise the spirit of our soldiers and demonstrate the unity of those fighting on our side.
