Russian attacks on Kyiv are destroying the entertainment industry: the latest shelling destroyed the STB pavilion

It is not just the destruction of critical infrastructure and residential buildings that continues in Ukraine – the latest Russian shelling has also hit the media sector. One of the pavilions of the STB TV channel, where the most famous Ukrainian TV projects were filmed, was completely destroyed.

This was reported by Daniel Salem, host of the program “Weighed and Happy,” "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

He noted that along with the pavilion, the scenery and technical facilities for the production of a number of projects burned down.

What exactly was lost

The destroyed complex was used for filming, among other things:

  • “Balanced and Happy”
  • the Bachelor post-show
  • “One for All”
  • “For the living”
  • “Everything will be fine”

These programs were part of STB’s long-running lineups and gathered a significant audience. The loss of the pavilion may affect the further production of these formats and cause a temporary suspension of filming.

When the attack took place

Salem did not specify the date of the attack. The last time Kyiv experienced a large-scale night attack was on November 29, when several districts reported damage to buildings and power outages.

Prior to that, on November 25, the capital had already been shelled with drones and rockets. Residential buildings in Pechersk and Dniprovskyi district, as well as the logistics center of the Novus network, were damaged. In Sviatoshynskyi district, one of the non-residential buildings was completely destroyed.

What it means for the media market

The loss of specialized pavilions may complicate the production of large studio formats that require technically complex sets.

Broadcasters have previously moved some of their filming to safer regions of Ukraine or abroad.
