Avocado is not a superfood: an expert dispels the myth about a popular product

Avocados are a healthy product. However, it also contains a lot of fat, which should not be abused. This was stated by fitness trainer Artem Doruchenko in an interview with the "Komersant Ukrainian" YouTube channel.

“We associate avocados with some kind of magical product, although it is just a fatty product. And it should be eaten in extremely limited quantities,” Doruchenko said.

According to him, it is not necessary to remove this or that product from your diet – it all depends on the amount of consumption. Even apples in excess can cause problems with the gastrointestinal tract, warns Doruchenko.

The expert also advises to pay attention to kiwi, which, according to him, is a “secret product” for normalizing digestion.

“Any gastroenterologist will tell you: if you have intestinal problems, eat three kiwis a day. No medicine works as well as kiwi,” the expert emphasized.

Doruchenko also drew attention to the fact that today most people unconsciously overload their meals with fats, trying to create “Instagram” breakfasts.

“You make a toast, put salmon on it, and it’s fatty. You put avocado on top. And you pour oil on top of it or sprinkle it with nuts. And your Instagram breakfast is fat in a square. Such a sandwich contains 700 calories, which is almost half of the daily calorie intake for an average woman,” he said.
