Austria prepares for Eurovision 2026: which city will be chosen to host

The Austrian broadcaster ORF is considering two cities – Vienna and Innsbruck – as potential locations for the 70th Eurovision Song Contest to be held in 2026.
This is reported on the contest’s website, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Representatives of the TV company have already visited two key arenas: Olympiaworld in Innsbruck and Stadthalle in Vienna. Both cities have been asked to improve their applications and submit a finalized concept for the competition.
“Both cities offer perfectly suitable conditions for organizing the largest television entertainment event in the world. We look forward to further developing the negotiations in the coming weeks,” said ORF CEO Roland Weismann.
The final decision on the host city is expected to be made in the second half of August.
As a reminder, the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel was won by Austria’s JJ with the song “Wasted Love”.
Austrian JJ received 436 points based on the results of the audience and jury voting.
The artist overtook Israeli participant Yuval Raphael, who performed with the track “New Day Will Rise” and received 357 points.
According to the results of the voting, the band Ziferblat, which represented our country with the song “Bird of pray”, took 9th place.
The Ukrainian performance garnered 218 points. Ukraine received 158 points from the audience and 60 from the jury.
