Azerbaijan may consider lifting the embargo on arms supplies to Kyiv if the Russian regime continues to strike at the Ukrainian gas infrastructure or at the facilities of Azerbaijani companies in Ukraine.
This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Azerbaijani edition of Caliber.Az.
The publication, which is considered to be close to the highest circles of Azerbaijani authorities, recalled that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev discussed Russian strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure in a conversation on August 10.
Among other things, the parties discussed the Russian attack on the SOCAR oil storage facility. The newspaper emphasizes that both leaders were very angry about the Russian attacks.
“According to reliable sources, if Russia continues its aggressive policy towards Azerbaijan’s interests, official Baku will begin to consider lifting the embargo on arms supplies to Ukraine, which is in its arsenal,” the article says.
It is also noted that the Russians have recently been targeting Azerbaijani energy facilities located in Ukraine. Baku will take painful measures in response if the attacks on the facilities do not stop.
