Biden plans to urgently provide Ukraine with $6 billion in military aid

The administration of current US President Joe Biden plans to urgently spend the remaining six billion dollars to help Ukraine. It is planned to do this before the inauguration of Donald Trump on January 20, 2025. This was reported by Politico with reference to two US officials, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
It is said that the Biden administration’s plan is the only opportunity for the White House to support Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
“But the problems are huge. It usually takes months for purchased ammunition and equipment to reach Ukraine after the announcement of an aid package, so everything that will be deployed in the coming weeks will most likely not arrive in full before the Trump administration begins, and the next leader may stop the supplies before they are even in place,” the interlocutors emphasized.
They explained that one of the main obstacles to the rapid implementation of this assistance is that the United States can only send equipment that is already in the US Army’s stocks.
“Although the money allocated reimburses the Pentagon for the cost of this equipment, it all depends on how quickly new artillery shells and weapons can be produced or contracts signed to replace them. We send everything the industry can produce every month, but the problem is that you can only send these things when they are produced,” explained former Pentagon budget officer Mark Kansian.
Politico noted that the $6 billion mentioned is the balance of the $61 billion in funding for Ukraine approved in April. These funds are divided into two streams: $4.3 billion to replenish existing US Army stocks and $2.1 billion to sign contracts with US defense companies for weapons.
