Beleniuk becomes a bronze medallist at the 2024 Olympics and ends his career victorious hopak (video)

Ukrainian Olympic champion in Greco-Roman wrestling Zhan Beleniuk became a bronze medallist at the 2024 Olympics in the 87 kg weight category. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

In the medal fight, Beleniuk met with Pole Arkadiusz Kulinic and confidently defeated his opponent with a score of 3:1.

For Beleniuk, it was the last fight of his professional career. The athlete and MP told journalists about his plans to retire before the final.

After the fight, the Ukrainian took off his shoes, which is a symbol of the end of his career.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the athlete on his bronze medal at the 2024 Olympics.

“Greco-Roman wrestling. The Olympic Games in Paris. Ukrainians win silver and bronze. Parviz Nasibov, Jean Beleniuk, we are proud! Thank you for your character and strength! Such results are inspiring,” Zelensky wrote.

This is the third Olympic medal in Beleniuk’s career: in Rio de Janeiro 2016 – silver, in Tokyo 2020 – gold, in Paris 2024 – bronze

With 10 medals (3 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze), the Ukrainian national team ranks 15th in the medal standings of the 2024 Olympic Games.
