Bereza announced sanctions against him: “this is Zelensky’s revenge”
27 June 00:16
Former MP Boryslav Bereza said that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to impose personal sanctions on him. Bereza announced this on Facebook, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“Friends, I have news for you. And you will be shocked by it. Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to impose sanctions on me tomorrow. I’m not kidding,” he wrote.
Bereza believes that the real purpose of the sanctions is to block his media platforms in Ukraine.
“The main goal is to block my channel and all my resources on the territory of Ukraine so that Ukrainians cannot learn about corruption, fake news and shameful actions of the authorities from them. This is his personal revenge. Evil tongues from Bankova Street say that the last straw was the fact that the Council of Europe and the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights got acquainted with the case of persecution of me by the Ukrainian authorities,” the former MP emphasizes.
According to him, the last straw for Zelensky was his criticism of Andriy Portnov and the Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksandr Chernyshev.
Bereza notes that such a step by the Presidential Office is nothing more than a political reprisal:
“That’s why the Office decided to impose sanctions. I wonder if I will be the first veteran of this war to be sanctioned by the “most experienced president”? The first and not the last? By the way, he did not impose sanctions on Portnov.”
In conclusion, Bereza compares the actions of the current government to the authoritarian methods of the Kremlin:
“I don’t even know how to react to such a manifestation of democracy and the reaction to Zelensky’s criticism, but it shows that someone is quickly following Putin’s path.”
