“White list”: Fedorov explained to the military how to verify Starlink terminals
4 February 11:18
The Ukrainian military must promptly verify the Starlink terminals they use for defense purposes so that they continue to operate after being blocked.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to a Telegram post by Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
“The process of verifying Starlink in Ukraine is ongoing. Citizens are actively adding terminals to the ‘white list’ to ensure their operation,” Fedorov said.
According to him, it is currently critical to verify all terminals used for defense purposes. To do this, the military must transfer all Starlink terminal numbers to the “white list” through the DELTA system.
He also stressed that this does not require placing the terminals on the military unit’s balance sheet or transferring account data. It is enough to add the terminal to the “white list” so that it continues to work after being blocked.
Subsequently, the process will be designed to receive data for terminal registration in real time.
“I appeal to commanders at all levels: organize the verification of Starlink terminals to ensure continuity and stability of communication,” added the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
What preceded
Recently, media reports emerged that Russian troops are increasingly using Starlink on strike drones in an attempt to bypass Ukraine’s air defense system.
On the same day, Mykhailo Fedorov announced that the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense had promptly contacted SpaceX to resolve the issue.
Fedorov also said that only authorized Starlink terminals would operate in Ukraine. This will be the next step in combating the use of satellite internet by Russians on their drones.
