Kommersant Ukrainian business publication announces a business discussion on the topic:
“Bukovel as an investment magnet: has the last train left the station?”
When: october 8
Time: 14.00
Where: IQ Business Center
The Carpathians have always been one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Ukraine. But with the outbreak of the war, the “Ukrainian Alps” have also become a place of relative safety for Ukrainians, which has led to a literal “boom” in investment in the region, the development of tourist and recreational infrastructure, and the emergence of new international projects.
A separate phenomenon has been the development of investment projects (for the purchase of hotel apartments) with a relatively low “entry threshold”.
Since the beginning of the war, the Carpathian region has been steadily increasing the volume of tourist arrivals, with the Polyanitska community, where Bukovel is located, remaining the main driver.
While in 2022, the region’s tourist tax revenues amounted to about UAH 17.96 million, in 2024 they already reached UAH 33.1 million.
In 2025, the trend continues: in the first five months alone, the Polyanytsia community received almost UAH 16 million in tourist tax, which is 67% more than in the same period last year. And in seven months, the total figure for the region exceeded UAH 26 million, of which more than UAH 18.8 million came from Bukovel.
In sync with the growth of tourist activity, business revenues are also growing, and it seems that they are not going to stop investing in the Carpathian region. After all, new large-scale projects for the construction of hotel complexes, mountain trails and entire new resorts have already been announced.
But:
- what are the reasons for such ambitious business plans?
- who makes money “on the mountains”?
- is it worth investing in new tourist facilities and building even more?
- what are the prospects for the Ukrainian Alps after the war?
In anticipation of a frank conversation on the topic, companies that have already built or announced new large-scale projects in the western region, managers of successful hotel complexes, tourism experts , private investors and real estate market analysts, etc. are invited to participate in the business discussion.
The list of speakers will beannounced soon!
