The government has updated the procedure for submitting applications to the International Register of Losses through the Diia portal. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The main innovation is the possibility of submitting applications not only by individuals, but also by legal entities and government agencies of Ukraine.

The extended format will be available in the near future.

Who can now submit an application to the Register of Losses

According to the Head of Government, the updated procedure will allow applying to the International Register of Losses to

  • citizens of Ukraine (individuals)
  • legal entities;
  • government agencies and institutions.

Applications can be filed for damage or destruction of residential properties, critical infrastructure, and other objects damaged as a result of the war.

How many applications have already been submitted through Diia?

Yulia Svyrydenko noted that since April 2024, Ukrainians have been actively using the service:

“Since April 2024, almost 90 thousand people have submitted applications in 14 categories through the Diia portal,” the Prime Minister said.

Who will review applications and make decisions on compensation

The Compensation Commission will review the applications and make decisions on compensation. According to Svyrydenko, its creation was an important international step:

“The Compensation Commission was established by 35 states that have signed the relevant Convention,” she said.

It is this commission that will determine the amount and mechanisms of compensation for the damage caused to Ukraine in the future.
