Missile Defense and hundreds of armored personnel carriers from Italy: Europe strengthens defense of Ukraine-2025

Italy hands over the 11th aid package to Ukraine. Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, and Poland have also announced new aid.
This means that the EU has realized that the United States will delay the negotiations as much as possible in order not to push Moscow deeper into Beijing’s arms. And everything lies on European shoulders.
The package
The main thing in it is the third SAMP/T MAMBA missile defense battery. This is the protection of cities from small ballistic missile attacks – a key task to stop the Kremlin’s offensive in 2025.
The second is 400 Italian-modernized M-113 armored personnel carriers.
This is a vehicle with additional armor, an open turret, which can be used not only for heavy machine guns but also for 40 mm grenade launchers, a workhorse for maneuver groups, assaults, and off-road logistics.
Mechanization is the key backbone of the army. Despite drones and the third dimension, infantry occupies and controls territories.
That is why it is always necessary to be able to deliver vehicles, carry out sanitary evacuation, and quickly move a 105 mm howitzer to a network of stationary positions.
We are talking about the operational level of supply, about 13 battalion groups. Perhaps less, because some of it goes to spare parts, but not much.
Of course, this includes ammunition for 105 mm mountain guns that were sent to the NGU units, and “boars” for more than a hundred 155 mm Paladins.
In addition, the capacities of the satellite group are indicated, but it is unclear whether this is about communications, intelligence, or both.
The EU will get rid of its dependence on the US in this segment, and we will get something in the form of satellite hours and analytical center capacities.

Aster 30 B1
The supply of missile defense along with missiles is vital.
Naturally, MBDA [Matra BAE Dynamics Aérospatiale, a European defense company – ed.] continues its efforts to speed up the production of Aster 30 B1 missiles capable of intercepting ballistic missiles. Their production cycle used to be 40 months, now it is 20 months, and the plan is to reach 15 months per product.
Recently, 218 missiles were ordered and robotic machines were purchased. The sites are being expanded so that the delivery vehicle does not have to be transported through the mountains to France and Italy to do the machine operation.
This is good. The EU is aware of the challenges and is ready to spend money, modernize and increase production. Although, of course, this is not enough even for our needs, let alone the needs of the Union.
Repeat Afghanistan
Putin’s statement about expanding the security zone to the northern regions of Ukraine means that the Kremlin is under the illusion that we can be pushed. But an increase in the front by 600-700 kilometers is a huge cost for the attacking party.
That is why we need our industry to work like clockwork.
Even though factories are dispersed, production is moved underground, supplies are made from wheels, and there are chains of allied workers and contractors abroad, it is still necessary to intercept Iskanders and their Korean counterparts.
It is necessary to create areas where small ballistics will be intercepted with a probability of at least 80%. Then the workshops spread over a huge area, along with downed missiles, electronic warfare, and false targets, will make the work on the industry really ineffective.
Roughly speaking, our task is to repeat the Soviet OTRK [Operational Tactical Missile Complex] campaign in Afghanistan, when thousands of Luna and Elbrus missiles were spent, generals received orders, all targets were hit, but the army had to leave the country.
Because even in a medieval country there are places to hide warehouses, fuel and raw materials.
Egoza barbed wire, concrete piles and prefabricated pillboxes, drone batteries and anti-personnel mines, rations and light ammunition – all of this should be mass-produced in Ukraine to stop motorcycle races and convoys on Soviet rot.
Peace through strength. There is no other way
All the talk about a just peace, about a ceasefire and dialogue remain talk. The formula “peace through strength” remains the only one that really works on our planet.
It is strange that the most right-wing government in modern history in Italy understands this, while Rubio, who positions himself as a Christian conservative, cannot find Patriots in storage and is unable to make up his mind at Senate hearings: Is Putin a war criminal or not?
