Bolt and Uklon are operating during curfew in Kyiv: what will change from January 17
16 January 22:33
On the night of Saturday, January 17, popular taxi services Uklon and Bolt will begin operating around the clock in Kyiv. They have received the necessary permission from local authorities. This was reported by the companies’ press services on social media, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Why night trips were allowed
Uklon explained that the ability to travel at night in the current conditions is a matter of safety and necessity. This includes trips to places of refuge, train stations, warming centers, medical facilities, as well as food delivery to loved ones.
“Together with the city authorities, we have agreed on Uklon’s operation during curfew. Therefore, from 00:00 on January 17, the service will operate in Kyiv around the clock,” Uklon reported. “The ability to get to places of refuge, train stations, warming centers, medical facilities, or simply to deliver food to loved ones is not a luxury right now, but a vital necessity. We are bringing back night trips so that the city does not stop even in the dark,” the company said.
At the same time, Uklon emphasized that decisions regarding the service’s operation in other cities will be made by local authorities, taking into account the security situation.
Bolt’s position
Bolt’s press service also confirmed the resumption of nighttime orders. Cars can be called as usual through the app.
The company urged passengers to use night trips responsibly, follow safety rules, and respond to air raid sirens.
Energy crisis and cold weather
The decision to ease restrictions on movement was made against the backdrop of an energy emergency and severe cold weather.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a change in the approach to curfew so that people could get help at any time and services could work more efficiently.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs was also tasked with improving public information and expanding support for citizens in difficult conditions.
