Real Madrid’s Brazilian striker Vinicius Junior is named FIFA’s Best Player of 2024

The Best FIFA Football Awards 2024 took place in Doha, Qatar, last night. This was reported by the official FIFA website, "Komersant Ukrainian" informs.
The best player of the year was forward Vinicius Junior, who this year won La Liga and the Champions League with Real Madrid.

The Brazilian won the award ahead of Spain and Manchester City midfielder Rodri and his Real Madrid teammate Jude Bellingham.
the 24-year-old footballer, who lost to Rodri in the fight for the Ballon d’Or in October, attended the award ceremony. Vinicius Junior became the first Brazilian to win the FIFA World Player of the Year award since 2007.
“It seemed impossible when I was playing barefoot on the streets of São Goncalo, and now I’m here,” said Vinicius Junior.
Aitana Bonmati of Barcelona (Spain) has once again been named FIFA World Player of the Year. the 26-year-old helped her club win the treble last season and, together with the Spanish national team, won the Nations League, scoring goals in the semifinals and final.

“I’m very grateful for this award, but I always say it’s a team effort with Barca, who won everything, and the national team,” Bonmati said.
Italian Carlo Ancelotti of Real Madrid won the award for the best men’s coach after leading his club to victories in the Spanish league and the Champions League.

Best Women’s Coach: Emma Hayes (Chelsea/USA national team);
Best goalkeeper: Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa);
Best goalkeeper among women: Alyssa Neher (Chicago Red Stars);
Best goal: Alejandro Guarnacho (Manchester United);
Best goal among women: Marta (Brazil).
