An agreement between the two countries on a 100-year partnership will be signed during the visit of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to Ukraine. This is reported on the British government portal, "Komersant Ukrainian" reported.
The treaty will promote military cooperation in maritime security through a new structure that will focus on strengthening security in the Baltic, Black and Azov Seas.
The treaty will help bring together specialists from the two countries to develop science and technology partnerships in areas such as healthcare, agro-technology, space and drone manufacturing.
A new UK-developed scheme will also be launched to help track grain stolen by Russians from occupied Ukrainian territories.
In addition, 100 schools in the UK and Ukraine will partner over the next few months in a bilateral program built around reading for pleasure.
“The 100-year partnership is an important step in supporting Ukraine’s long-term security – ensuring it is never again vulnerable to threats from Russia, and a commitment to stand side by side with a sovereign Ukraine for the next century,” the British government said in a statement.
As is known, today British Prime Minister Keir Starmer arrived in Kiev. This is his first visit to Ukraine at the head of the British government.
