A well-known volunteer of the Army SOS community, Yuriy Kasyanov, believes that any truce in the war with Russia now would mean a loss for Ukraine and the loss of its independence. He said this in an exclusive comment to Komersant ukrainskyi

According to the volunteer, Putin wants a truce today, but only on terms that are tantamount to our losing the war and losing Ukraine’s independence. Therefore, the current situation, even with all its complexity, should not force the Ukrainian authorities to take “difficult and unpopular steps” in this direction.

“I believe that any truce now would mean losing the war for us. That is why I do not consider this option. We need to do everything we can to maintain international support and increase it. And work harder to strengthen our defence,”

– kasyanov said.

on 15-16 June, the Peace Summit was held in Switzerland, and the final communiqué refers to nuclear and food security and the return of prisoners. However, it also mentioned the need for negotiations with Russia:

We believe that achieving peace requires engagement and dialogue between all parties. Therefore, we have decided to take concrete steps in the following areas in the future, with further involvement of representatives of all parties

– peace Summit communiqué

The second Peace Summit is currently being discussed in Saudi Arabia.
