Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kirill Budanov spoke at the Forum for Support of Russian Volunteers and named the goals of a “limited military operation in Belgorod and Kursk regions”. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi citing the Forum for Support of Russian Volunteers.
“The limited military operation in the Belgorod and Kursk regions is just the beginning of your journey in the fight for your country. It was aimed at pulling back the reserves of Putin’s army from the Ukrainian front; discrediting the electoral process in Russia, which many organisations recognise as illegitimate, and calling on the world community not to recognise Putin as the legitimate president of the Russian Federation, as well as awakening the consciousness of Russians,”
– the humanitarian foundation’s telegram channel 24/02 quoted him as saying.
Budanov added that “during this military operation, a number of border settlements are being taken under control, and strikes are being carried out exclusively against the military infrastructure of Putin’s troops”.

The head of the GUR said that Russian volunteer formations operate autonomously in cooperation with the intelligence directorate. He noted that the forum was attended by representatives of the Freedom of Russia Legion and the Siberian Battalion.
The forum to support Russian volunteers was organised by the 24/02 Foundation. The invited speakers were Mark Feigin, Marat Gelman, Ivan Tyutrin, Ilya Ponomarev, Rostislav Murzagulov, Evgeniya Chirikova, Alexander Osovtsov, Andrey Volna, and representatives of volunteer formations. The forum resulted in the signing of a memorandum between Russian oppositionists and the Russian liberation forces. The document demonstrates the opposition’s support for Russian volunteers.
