Budanov names the condition for ending the escalation at the front

Russia has already become more active on the front line, and no significant changes in the nature of the fighting can be expected. The situation will remain tense until possible peace talks are completed. This was reported by the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov in the program “On the Line of Fire”, reports [Kommersant]

According to Budanov, the Russian army has already entered the stage of activation, so “the picture will not change much.”

“No one will see anything new. Everything you see now will not change much,” he said.

He also commented on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statement that “wherever a Russian soldier goes, it is ours.”

The DIU chief believes that these words are true, and this is exactly how Russia acts in the occupied territories.

“Do you think that someone does not understand this? I hope that everyone understands. And we, as citizens, have only one conclusion to draw from this – that we need to really defend our country, and not hide from the TCC or something like that. Otherwise, the Russian Federation will come, as it is happening in the occupied territories. And it is happening there in full swing, believe me,” Budanov emphasized.

According to Budanov, the active phase of hostilities will continue until a political settlement is reached.

“Until the time, let’s say, peace talks are completed,” the head of military intelligence believes.

Yae reported [Kommersant] Defense forces stopped the enemy’s advance in Sumy region, this year’s wave of enemy “summer offensive” attempts from the territory of Russia is choking.

In May-June 2025, Russian attempts to launch a “summer offensive” from the territory of the Russian Federation in Sumy region failed, similar to the failure of the enemy’s offensive in Kharkiv region last year.

On the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces chained about 50,000 Russian troops, including elite airborne and marine brigades.

The offensive actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Hlushkiv district of Kursk region forced the enemy to redeploy some forces to protect its own territory, which significantly weakened the offensive potential of the main group in Sumy region.
